Solution:
1. Click Start, in the Search box, type 'regedit'.
2. Explore to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CD Burning\Drives
3. Double-click 'Drive Type' in the right pane. Put '2' in the Value data field. Click Ok.
4. Restart the PC.
Tried this but on restarting the value of 2 has changed back to 1 each time. Any help?

DeleteNope. With restart or without. The '2', however, does stay in the value field, doesn't revert to, in my case, 11.
